Terri Thompson is truly an inspired author. Her new book story Magic offers comfort to the hurting, perspective to those who would love to support the hurting, and a joyous challenge to all of us who struggle to release our death grip on perceived control.

In her new book Story Magic, Terri weaves a tale that is not uncommon to any of us. It is a story of the interpersonal struggles of a family fighting to survive trauma, fear, and loss.
Story Magic gave me a deeper perspective of the struggles that my friends and neighbors might be walking through. It gave me a little more compassion for single parents and disillusioned teenagers with whom I interact daily.
Some parts of this story were painful to read, but the truth of God's love keeps shining through. Though the characters in this story are fictional, the organizations that offer hope and encouragement to those characters are not fictional and bravely provide real support to struggling families.

I'm especially thankful to Terri for her vulnerable depiction of the human battle to control all that is out of our control. When we reach the end of ourselves, may each of us find the grace to surrender to the sovereign One who continually reaches out to us with infinite love.
