About Terri Lynn Thompson

As a child, I used to create stories that my sister and I could play. We had fun pretending. I wonder if she ever knew I wrote some of them down after we finished.  I wish I had some of those pages now for a good laugh.

When I was a little older, I wanted to be Billie on the T.V. show, Lou Grant. And in high school I figured I got my chance when I became a reporter for the the Gateway Medallion, our high school paper.

Journaling was almost always part of my life. It helped me process my worries, heartbreaks, celebrations, prayers and poems.

It wasn't until I was married and had three very busy little boys that I got the urge to write fiction again. Timing has never been my strongest asset.

I wrote and rewrote a biblical fiction entitled, Deceiver or King, which is still unpublished. I rewrote that again a few years ago, adding a second POV character. One day that will finally make its way out to the world.

Many times life circumstances kept me from focusing on writing, but I never gave it up completely.

As grandmother, Madeleine L'Engle's words (especially in Walking on Water) have inspired me to trust the call and devote myself more fully to fiction.

I write about ordinary people facing extraordinary challenges who, encounter incredible grace. I hope that through my stories readers will rediscover wonder, embrace healing, and believe that light can still find us—even in our darkest moments.
