Wren, my main (POV) character was named after the bird by her Nonna. Wrens are small and strong. They can make a home in a wide variety of habitats and stick together for safety. 

Wren's early childhood was not happy. Since her adoption at age seven, her life has been happy and safe. Wren is fiercely loyal to her friends. She's the cautious one, fear of worst-case possibilities often dictating her actions, until the worst-case actually happens. 

Caught in a ring of trafficked young people, she discovers light in her darkest night, and strength she never knew she had.
